Hella Jongerius – Master of all trades. Absolute Icon.

Hella Jongerius is a Dutch industrial designer known for her experimental approach to product design. Hella was an absolute icon, I mean she was excellent. I am very grateful for being given her as my go-to. She expertly uses the combination of colour, dimension, material, patterns and textiles for her creations of patterns and products.

She was born on May 30, 1963, in De Meern, Netherlands, and studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven. Hella has worked for various design studios, including Droog Design in Amsterdam, before founding her own studio, Jongeriuslab, in 1993.

Jongerius is known for her work with brands such as KLM, and IKEA, and for being the creative head of Vitra. Her designs have been featured in museums and galleries around the world. Her work often explores the boundaries between craft and industrial production, and she expertly understands every aspect of the design process.
